All seven N.C. Baptist colleges, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and several other groups will hold meetings for alumni and friends in conjunction with the annual Baptist State Convention, which is scheduled for Nov. 10-12 at Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. Wake Forest University and Chowan College will meet on Nov. 10, just prior to the opening convention session. Wake Forest alumni and friends will gather at Knollwood Church fellowship hall at 5:15 p.m. with Chowan scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Coliseum Assembly Room. Wingate University will sponsor a breakfast on Nov. 11 at 7 a.m. in the Coliseum Assembly Room. Campbell University will meet at the Holiday Inn Select on University Parkway for a noon luncheon, and Gardner-Webb University will meet at the same time in the Coliseum Assembly Room. Meredith College will sponsor a dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the Coliseum Assembly Room with Mars Hill College hosting a similar event for alumni and friends at the Ramada Inn (formerly Holiday Inn North) on University Parkway at 5 p.m. Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond will sponsor a luncheon at the Sawtooth Building on Marshall Street at noon. The date and location for the Southeastern Seminary alumni meeting was not available at press time. Contact George Harvey at (919) 556-3101 at the seminary for more information. The N.C. Foreign Missionary Fellowship will meet at First Church in Winston-Salem at 4 p.m. on Nov. 10 with N. C. Baptist Women in Ministry conducting a time of worship and fellowship that afternoon at Wake Forest Church on the university campus. The annual Annuitants' Breakfast is set for 7 a.m. on Nov. 12 at the Holiday Inn Select on University Parkway. The Leisure Ministry organization will meet in the Pilot Mountain Association Building at 7:15 a.m. and host a box lunch in the Exhibit Hall on Nov. 11. Other pre-convention meetings will include the N.C. Ministers¼ Wives, meeting at Calvary Church on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.; Baptist Religious Education Association, Ardmore Church, Nov. 10 at noon; and Youth Ministers¼ Association, College Park Church, Nov. 10 from 4-5:30 p.m.
